USING THE STUDIO FACILITIES –
- You’re welcome to make an appointment to view the studio.
- Each person is responsible for their own specialised stationary, metal plates, Brasso, PVC, linoleum, woodblocks, carving tools, printing ink, paint and printing paper. The studio sells Zerkall Printmaking paper.
- The studio facilitates intaglio, relief and monotype.
- Warren Editions will supply etching tools, etching facilities, steel facing facilities, cleaning solvents & materials, etching grounds, gum arabic, asphaltum, shellac, tarlatan, brayers, rollers, gum rosin, carbon paper, pigment paper, newsprint, polyester.
- It is expected from you to work independently.

In the case of you requiring an assistant printer – a fee of R115 per hour (or part thereof).

In the case of you requiring to: consult with Zhané Warren regarding your project and/or techniques, or requiring Zhané Warren to set up your particular printing process, or demonstrate a technique, or collaborate with Zhané Warren – a fee of R287,50 per hour (or part thereof).
PRINTING SIZES FOR ETCHING
BLUE PRESS (100 x 200 cm)
Accommodates a plate of 70 x 140 cm, maximum thickness 1 mm.
Therefore, maximum paper size can be about 90 x 160 cm.
SMALL PRESS (50 x 90 cm)
Accommodates plate size 35 x 50 cm, maximum thickness 1 mm
Therefore, maximum paper size can be about 45 x 65 cm.
PRINTING SIZES FOR RELIEF
BLUE PRESS (100 x 200 cm)
Accommodates block size 70 x 140 cm, maximum thickness 10 mm (use runners).
Therefore, maximum paper size can be about 80 x 150 cm.
SMALL PRESS (50 x 90 cm)
Accommodates block size 35 x 50 cm, maximum thickness 10 mm (use runners).
Therefore, maximum paper size can be maximum 45 x 65 cm.
