Jean de wet’s work explores imaginings of futuristic instruments, abstract landscapes, lost travellers and other inter-dimensional misadventures.
Jean de Wet is an artist and illustrator, born in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. Always drawing, building contraptions and making music in his youth, he later graduated with a BA in Information Design from the University of Pretoria in 2007. In 2008 he moved on to work as an illustrator in Cape Town, while further experimenting with drawing, illustration and comics. He has since taken part in many group-shows, collaborations and publications both locally and internationally. Working across multiple mediums and formats, Jean always hopes to instil a sense of mystery, nostalgia and humour in his work.
